About

What We Do

Savage Mercies looks at what’s going on in the world and what the Bible says about it. We pour over scripture, and every available piece of information to provide authoritative research for anyone looking to know where to stand.

We go beyond opinions—everybody has one. We uncover the Bible bringing you historical, cultural, archeological, and linguistic contexts so you get the full picture of what the Bible says on any given topic. And using that, we address the movements shaping our culture, explain the implications, and ground everything in a biblical foundation.

It’s showing you why you believe what you believe.

Why We Exist

The world is drowning in hot takes and shallow commentary. Christians need more than outrage—they need understanding. They need to know why things are happening, where ideas come from, and what God’s Word says about it all.

Savage Mercies equips believers to:

  • Understand current events through a biblical-theological lens
  • Discern false teaching and cultural deception
  • Stand firm on God’s sovereignty in suffering and chaos
  • Think deeply about theology, history, and culture

Our Approach

News + Theology + History + Research = Content that equips you to stand firm.

We bring together:

  • Current Events Analysis – What’s happening in Israel, culture wars, persecution, gender ideology, political theology
  • Reformed Theology – God’s sovereignty, election, covenant theology, church history
  • Biblical Study – Chapter-by-chapter exposition, difficult passages, typology
  • Practical Discipleship – Recovering from church hurt, finding good teachers, family discipleship

Who I Am

I’m Mauricio Crespo and I’m a dad with young boys that needs to equip them for the culture ahead, and the hostility they’ll face as Christians. Like my boys, there are many who need more than rage baiting comments online—they need to be equipped. That’s our mission.

I know that God uses pain to show Mercy. It sounds contradictory, it sounds insane. But over time, it makes perfect sense—we would never pick Him willingly, He needs to draw us in. And the sanctifying process is just that.

But thank God for His Savage Mercies.

Is this a ministry? Maybe. It’s a calling to help Christians think clearly, believe deeply, and stand firmly in a world that’s increasingly hostile to the faith once delivered to the saints.
